I like a plain war. Where everyone is equal so everyone could stand a chance against one another. I mean sure advanced weapons and stuff make an army stronger :\ You do know that you are playing a Sci-Fi Game so there you go here is your advanced weapons :| . Plus before when CCP fixed the boosting glitch. Me in the other hand and the other people while the ''curtain people boosted'' I actually played the game right. Gained my Sp and Isk with pure skill. I'm not pointing fingers I'm just calling it out.
A sport is supposed to be fair. A tournament is supposed to be fair.
Its like your fave sport team gets cheated by your most hated sports team because they used drugs to enhance their players. I wouldn't like that one bit.
A warrior does not choose the strongest weapons to kill the enemy. The warrior uses their skill to out smart them and win.
Having strong weapons does not make the army. Its the soldiers that make the army.
Two things i'd like to say about this.
A.) Saying that you want the Tournament to be fair is basically saying that currently it ISN'T fair. Now unless you have some inside info as to who has what supplies and how much money each of the participating Corporations have, that must be your opinion. For all you know the tournament IS fair.
B.) The entire game and premise of the GAME is in fact fair. Every person playing has the exact same access to every item in the game that the guy next to him does. What makes the game, and life really, is the people playing the game. CCP can't do a thing about the Corporations playing in the tournament because ultimately it's the people that save up ISK, get funding, buy better weapons, modules, vehicles, Skillbooks, and have the skills to use those items effectively that are going to be the major players in the Dust Universe.
You drew comparisons to sports and warriors. First off the drugs thing isn't fair. Say if both teams had access to the drugs equally, there was no negative side effect to the drug, and using said drug was not against the official rules, then that'd be fair. If one side says "nah i don't want or need this drug" and they end up losing, that was their choice.
And no having a strong weapon doesn't make the army agreed. I used a strong weapon once and it didn't do crap for me since i didn't have the skills to back up my use of it. Also i'm pretty sure if a "warrior" was being attacked and in front of him were two weapons, a Baseball Bat and a Sword, he'd pick the sword. Part of the Skills that make a "warrior" is knowing what weapons to choose that MAKE you the strongest warrior you can be.
